IIM Ahmedabad – The Flagship Management Symposium of IIM Ahmedabad, called The Red Brick Summit has launched the second edition of the Motilal Oswal Think Equity Think QGLP Contest 2018 on August 31, 2018. The event, which is among the biggest stock pitch event in India provides a great forum for B-school students to test their stock-picking skills, present the same to a distinguished panel of investors, and win attractive cash prizes and Certificates of Appreciation along the way.
The students currently pursuing MBA or equivalent degree at any business school across India are invited to participate in the “Think Equity Think QGLP Contest 2018”. The stock pitch event will be held in collaboration with Motilal Oswal.
Last year, students from 54 top B-Schools from across India had participated in the first edition of the contest. In the finals held on October 2, 2017, at the IIM-A campus, ISB Mohali emerged as the winner followed by IIM Rohtak and IIM Bangalore securing first and second runners-up positions, respectively.

As a part of the competition, teams will identify an equity stock worth making a pitch by applying QGLP stock-picking process. The top entry from each college will be assessed by an internal team of investment experts from Motilal Oswal led by Mr Raamdeo Agrawal, Chairman, Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company. The ten best entries will qualify for the contest finals to be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the IIM Ahmedabad campus during The Red Brick Summit.
The qualifying finalists will need to present their stock pitch to a three-member jury, chaired by Mr Raamdeo Agrawal. The top three winners will be selected based on the following Stock Pitch evaluation criteria:
Applicability of QGLP principles
Quality of idea
Depth of analysis/insights
The finalists will be awarded cash prizes of total 13 lakh and Certificate of Appreciation. The winner will get Rs. 5 lakh, the first runner-up will get Rs. 3 lakh whereas the second runner-up will receive Rs. 1.5 lakh cash prize. Seven qualifiers will get Rs. 50,000 each. Certificates of Appreciation will be given to each finalist.

iim ahmedabad short lists candidate according to academic marks and cat percentile. suppose you get 99 percentile in cat , but your academic is not that good there may be no chances for you to get selected. if you have more than of 90 percentage marks in 10th, 12th and graduation and along with excellent cat score you have fair chances to get calls.

After shortlisting the Candidates, the selected Candidates will have to go through WAT and PI rounds. Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each Category ) on the basis of their Final Composite Score. . After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.
