Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, country’s topmost B-school, held its 53rd annual convocation for the 2016-18 batch on March 24, 2018. A total of 576 students graduated at the event. Dr. Janmejaya Sinha, the Chairman of the Asia-pacific region and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee at the Boston Consulting Group, was the Chief Guest at the event. Mr. Kumar Manglam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIMA, Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director of the institute, and other members of the Governing Council were present during the ceremony.

While delivering the convocation address, Mr. Sinha, the chief guest of the event, said, “Graduating from IIM A is huge. Don’t waste it. Be sure to be worthy of yourself.”

He went on saying that “Whatever you do, do with full commitment. You will never discover what you are really good at with a partial commitment. That is the only way you can learn. You cannot find fulfilment without commitment.”
Mr. Srikant Datar delivered the chief guest address on behalf of Mr. Kumar Manglam Birla who couldn’t make it to the event. He congratulated the students and appealed them to be the best version of themselves.
Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director of IIM-A, delivered the concluding address. He focused on the diversity factor of the batch and introduced the gathering to some interesting facts like the PGP batch had 32 percent non-engineering students, the highest ever in more than 15 years. The PGP-FABM had 45 percent non-engineering students.
He wished all the students the best that the life has to offer. He further said “Be alive to the imaginations and the possibilities and continue to invent the future. After all, you are from IIMA.”

iim ahmedabad short lists candidate according to academic marks and cat percentile. suppose you get 99 percentile in cat , but your academic is not that good there may be no chances for you to get selected. if you have more than of 90 percentage marks in 10th, 12th and graduation and along with excellent cat score you have fair chances to get calls.

After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.
