IIFT Cutoff 2019

Careers360 brings you the reactions from students across the centres who are here to take the IIFT 2015 exam.

Anchita: I have put in my best efforts for IIFT preparation, hoping for the best. My strongest section is Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. I am tensed about Quant section.

Neha: I am quite positive and confident about my preparation. Verbal is my strong domain, especially English Usage questions. I am not too confident about Quant but let’s hope for the best.

Prateek Jain – I am guessing that Quant and Logical Reasoning would be tough this year as per previous years’ trend. Hence I have practiced these sections by taking mock tests and solving last years’ question papers.

Sandeep - I am taking IIFT as a practice test for CAT. This is my second attempt. I wanted to gain a year of work experience before seriously attempting the MBA entrance exams.

Shravan IIFT is my dream institute and I had started my preparation 6 months ago to crack the exam. Although I am not too confident about Quant but I can manage the other sections.

After the exam got over, the students shared their feedback and test taking experiences.

Naman: The overall difficulty level was tough. I found the Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis sections to be the tough. English was quite easy. GK was of moderate difficulty level.

Mayank: I had appeared for the exam last year as well and comparatively the difficulty level was easier this year. The total number of questions was 124. The GK and Verbal Ability sections were easily attemptable. The other sections, DI, LR and WA were tough. The Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation areas were tricky and time consuming.

Stuti: The question topics of the GK area was mostly from Current Affairs and lesser on Static GK. The topics included Banks, Name of CES, Import-Export. It was a lengthy paper and for me, GK and DI were the toughest sections.

Manjit: The overall exam pattern was moderate to tough. I am from B.Tech background so I found the Quant section to be managable and DI and Verbal section to be tough. But still I have attempted around 100 questions accurately and hoping to clear the cutoff.

I have been shortlisted for second round in iift. there is a mistake in my application .. for category general (bc creamy layer ) it is gen ews. i have sent queries regarding the issue and got no replies. can someone help me with this issue please?

Sampriti Student Expert 27th Jan, 2020
If you've got a call you must attend the selection process. Before they start the process they'll review all your documents as well as application form. So you can ask them there if you can attend the process. They usually let students appear for the process even if there's some mistake.
And in the interview you can try to convince them. If they find you as a desirable candidate there won't be any problem with that.

Good Luck

i got 39 and half marks in iift,so whats my percentile???

NAVNEET PANDEY 11th Jan, 2020

Hello Rinku

You need atleast more than 105+ marks to get a good percentile and almost 138 to secure a call from any good college taking part in IIFT entrance test.you will have around 40 percentile according to previous year trends which is very low.

I hope it helps.

Hi Pallav

These are some of the best books

  1. For Vocabulary: Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis
  2. For enhancing the reading speed, any novel and newspaper and anything you can read will be good enough.
  3. For Grammar: Normal Grammar Rules from Wren and Martin.

Books by Arun Sharma (TMH) and by Nishant Sinha (Pearson)

  1. Quantum CAT by Sarvesh K Verma
  2. Quantitative Aptitude by Arun Sharma

Do we need mathematics subject in class 12. To do IIFT.

Saloni Singh 3rd Jan, 2020
Hello Himanshu,
Hope you are doing well.
No, there's nothing like you need to have mathematics in your 10+2 course as eligibility criteria for getting admission at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).
The only academic eligibility criteria for IIFT is a graduate degree with a minimum aggregate marks of 50%.
You can check more details about the institute at the link I am mentioning below.
Please check :
Hope it's helpful to you !
All the best.
Thankyou .
