To Do List for IIFT 2013 Test Day
It is always better to be prepared a day in advance rather than huddle with the documents, stationary and preparation materials on the day of the exam. For that, we are sharing with you the things to carry at the test center.
IIFT 2013 Admit Card: IIFT 2013 Admit Card will act as your password to enter the test center. IIFT had sent the admit card by post to the registered candidates. In case you have not received it or downloaded it from the IIFT website, you can still do the same now. Visit this page to download your IIFT 2013 Admit Card. After downloading the admit card, take a print out and bring it to the test center. Preserve the admit card till your admission process at IIFT is over.
Documents to carry: IIFT has stated a list of documents to carry which will serve as your identity proves. You have to bring at least 1 of the following documents:
Things to and not to bring: Since IIFT 2013 is a paper pencil based test, you are allowed to bring a pencil, an eraser and a pen. These 3 are the only stationary items you are allowed to carry to the exam hall. Apart from these, nothing else would be allowed to take inside the hall. The list is inclusive of but not exhaustive to electronic items like cell phones, calculators, papers, books, notebooks etc. In case you are carrying any of these, you have to submit them outside the test center and collect it while leaving the hall.
Reach the test center on time: Report to the test center maximum by 9 am. The exam is slated to start from 10 am. You have to reach at least 1 hour before. The test center authorities may not allow you to take the exam if you reach any later than that. It is better to be sure about your test center location well in advance so that you have an idea of the travel time.
Do not bring preparation material or engage in related discussion: Be confident about yourself and do not carry any preparation material or books for last minute revision. Till now you have prepared enough, so don’t exert your brain with last minute preparation. Try to avoid discussion with your fellow test takers on preparation or the expected question types. It will only make you more nervous. Try to be as much calm and possible.
Follow the timing and instructions of the Test Center authorities: The hour from 9 am to 10 am will be divided into various stages of activities before the test commences. The check in process will start from 9 am. You will be seated at your assigned seats by 9.30 am. The OMR sheet will be handed out by 9.45 am and the question paper by 9.55 am. The test will start from 10 am. Follow the instructions of the test center authorities (TCA) and if in doubt, don’t hesitate to raise your hand and ask them. There is no sectional time limit and hence you can plan your strategy accordingly.
Read instructions: As soon as you receive the question paper, read the instructions carefully. Check the marks per question, negative marking scheme, number of questions and sections. Also check if any additional information is there. Don’t forget to write your test series number given in your question booklet into your OMR sheet and rough paper. Unless you mention that properly, your answer paper will be deemed redundant.
Strategize according to the pattern: For an unpredictable exam like IIFT, you should not have a pre planned strategy. You must plan how to go about the paper once you have the question paper in hand. Based on the paper, plan which section to start with. Ideally you should start with the section of your strength and attempt maximum questions from that section and move gradually. Also try to opt for majority of the questions from the section with maximum marks. If you get stuck with any question, the funda is to leave it and move ahead. In case you suspect any question to be wrong, leave that as well.
Shade the answers properly: Since IIFT entrance exam is a paper pencil based test where you have to mark your answer in the OMR sheet, refer to the instruction as well. Ideally, you have to shade the circle alongside the correct option. Shade it properly and consistently. Failing to mark the correct answer accordingly will be considered as unattempted or may lead to negative marking.
Manage your time well: Time management is the key. You have 2 hours and around 4 to 6 sections or sub sections. The number of questions will range from 120 to 135. Hence you must manage your time well. Divide the sections according to time limits and stick to that. Otherwise you will remain in one section and get little time to solve the other sections.

what should be my Sectional cutoff in iift exam 2020
This is the sectional cutoff of IIFT exam 2020:
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension 18-20
Quantitative Analysis 16-20
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning 18-20
General Awareness (GK) 8-10
This sectional cutoff is for Delhi IIFT. So for other IIFTs it will be slightly lower.
Is iift consider your past academics record
- Hey, acccording to my opinion IIFT does not consider your past academics record . iift consider your good percentile WAT,PI and GD scores .if you are clear sectional cutoff and over all cutoff then you are eligible for shortlisted candidates .i think IIFT DELHI AND KOLKATA ARE THE GOOD CAMPUS . I THINK YOU SHOULD SCORES GOOD PERCENTILE THEN ACADEMIC RECORD DOES NOT MATTER FOR YOU FIRST YOU SHOULD GIVE TOTAL FOCUS TOWARD ENTRANCE EXAM.....
3.5 months are enough to crack CAT and IIFT exams ? Can anyone suggest me the study plan ? I am targetting maximum 97% in CAT and 145 marks in IIFT.
Sectional Division of Overall Preparation
Know your strengths along with weaknesses
Accept the importance of previous year question papers
Coaching or self-preparation
If you are preparing for CAT exam on a serious note, there won't be any problem preparing for IIFT too, provided you know the correct strategy for it! only the strategy of how you should play in the required format changes. So is the case with IIFT and other similar entrance exams apart from the CAT.
Firstly, from this year onwards, IIFT is conducted by NTA, so for the first time this year, IIFT will be conducted online just like any other MBA entrance exams! So there are two pros mainly I can think of -
- We don't have to spend our time circling the answers.
- We don't have to separately get accustomed to the paper based format from now.
This exam mainly consists of six sections -
- Reading Comprehension
- Verbal Ability
- Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Ability
Hope it helps
Thank you & Good Luck!!!
