Great Lakes Gurgaon commences 7th PGPM batch
Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Gurgaon, has commenced its 7th Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) for the academic year 2018-19 with 158 students in a ceremony held at its Manesar campus. Mr. Avnish Sabharwal, MD, Accenture Ventures & Open Innovation and India Mentor of change, Atal Innovation Mission, was the Chief Guest at the event. Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju, Vice Chairman, GLIM and Founder, Great Learning, Dr. Debashis Sanyal, Director, GLIM, Gurgaon, Dr. Umashankar Venkatesh, Director, PGPM and Professor (Marketing), GLIM, Gurgaon along with board of directors were present during the event.
Addressing the new batch, Mr Avnish Sabharwal spoke about innovation and world of digital disruption. He also spoke that “it is the combinatorial impact of technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented learning, data analytics, block chain etc. that is causing disruption in the business processes. We are witnessing that the traditional value chain companies are being replaced by platform companies such as Google, Uber, Facebook, Air bnb and so on. So, all organizations need to adopt technology and be a part of the digital revolution to stay in the business. The same goes for students as they will be future leaders and entrepreneurs and they need to be nimble enough to understand these disruptive technologies and all the changes and shift caused by them in the businesses. Hence, they need to learn to learn and understand that learning should never stop,” opined, Mr Sabharwal.
Addressing the students, Dr Bala V. Balachandran, Chairman of the Board, Founder and Dean of Great Lakes Institute of Management, said, "It is up to you to make the most of our Gurukulam style of Living and Learning. Welcome at Great Lakes.”
Congratulating the new batch and sharing experience of his own educational journey, Mr Mohan Lakhamraju, expressed that “the high quality education can transform your life and open up the world of opportunities and possibilities for you. It not only provides you with skills, network but also with the confidence to believe in yourself.” He inspired students to be more aspirational in life and aim higher.
Welcoming the new batch, Dr Debashis Sanyal, said, “Great Lakes has a tradition of naming its new batch after an acclaimed warrior clan because the spirit of the warriors and the zeal with which they fight bravely in every situation is what we want to inculcate in our students. This year the PGPM batch will be called as ‘Ninjas’. The term refers to the technique that helps users to enhance the capability to achieve feats which are otherwise unattainable.”
Further, he expressed confidence that Ninjas will reach new heights through the learning that they will gain here at Great Lakes, Gurgaon. Speaking about curriculum, Dr Sanyal shared that “this year we will focus more on soft skills such as oral and written communication.”

Great Lakes PGPM Admission: Difference between Cycle-1 & Cycle-2 Application
The Cycle-1 and Cycle-2 of application process is distinguished based on the scores with which you are applying. If a candidate has last year exam score, for example for admission 2020, if you have scores of CAT 2018, XAT 2019, CMAT 2019 and GMAT (taken after 1st Jan 2017), you must apply in cycle-1.
But, if you have appeared in CAT 2019, XAT 2020 and GMAT (taken after 1st Dec. 2019), you need to apply in Cycle 2.
While in terms of the selection process, there is no preference given to applicants in any cycle and there is similar probability of getting selected, the applicants submitting application in Cycle 1 get some extra time to plan their finances, personal commitments and exit from companies better as they get an admission offer by end of December.

Which is a better option- IMT Nagpur PGDM or GLIM Gurgaon PGPM?
BOth college are new and backed by two well known brand i.e. IMT & GLIM.You should choose on factors such as placements, faculty, fee, batch size, alumni network and recognization.
GLIM :(It is a 1 year program and requires 2 yrs experience)

Placement: Avg 11.14 lac ctc Highest !8 lac ctc
