Ayon: I was part of a team providing advisory service for Media & Entertainment, Insurance, Financial Service and Government and Public sector domain and was engaged in IT project management, Product Management, Business Process Automation, Business Development, Pre Sales and Enterprise Architecture.
Careers360: Why did you choose to pursue Executive MBA?
Ayon: While pursuing my job and meeting new challenges every day, I realized that a more thorough and fundamental understanding of how a society and the corporate houses run is extremely important to grow as a professional. The basic pillars of management education will strengthen my profile, help me articulate my achievements better and make me much more effective in my future roles. Doing MBA was the most structured/methodical approach for me to fill my professional gaps quickly.
Careers360: Which B-schools did you apply for and why did you select IIM Ahmedabad?
Ayon: I had applied for the programmes offered by IIM A and ISB. I preferred IIM A because of the better brand value, learning experience and better suited batch profile.
Careers360: Please share your application and selection process experience.
Ayon: I had to submit my application along with my GMAT score, resume and purpose of pursing MBA education. Once my application got shortlisted, I had to appear for an interview. Cracking the interview was the last step towards getting selected for the program.
Careers360: How have you financed the course?
Ayon: I have availed educational loan more than 90% of the total course fee.
Careers360: How do you spend a typical day at the IIM Ahmedabad campus?
Ayon: The day starts at 8.00 AM typically. Sometimes we get time to have a light breakfast before we rush to the class. The class starts at 8.45 and typically continues till 1.15 PM. After lunch, we need to do all the homework and self-preparation required for the next day. From evening, we get into group studies to prepare for group assignments and presentations. Group study continues till 3.00 AM to 4.00 AM on an average. Along with this routine, we need to attend different seminars, speaker series events, class tests and other educational activities almost every day.
Careers360: How did you adjust to the student life after almost a decade of being a working executive?
Ayon: Initially it was very challenging and difficult as well. Over the time, I got used to it. You feel motivated and energized by looking at your peers going through the same struggle yet keep pushing forward.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what are the activities you are involved in?
Ayon: I am involved in different club activities (IT Club, Finance Club and Consulting Club) within the campus.
Careers360: How much industrial and international exposure do you get through the programme?
Ayon: The programme provides extremely insightful industrial exposure as most of the faculties are attached to different industries out here. The case based learning process helps us to experience classical and contemporary problems faced by different industries in today’s business world.
The problems discussed here and the learning methodology followed is very much international and relevant in nature. Moreover, we have two weeks of mandatory international exchange program with pioneer B-schools across the globe.
Careers360: In comparison to the 2 year regular MBA, how much is the rigour at the PGPX?
Ayon: As this is a full time one year course and it covers mostly all part of a necessary 2-year MBA programme, the rigour is relatively higher than that of a 2 year programme.
Careers360: What according to you is the best aspect of your programme and campus?
Ayon: Highly qualified faculty, modern way of teaching and diverse pool of batch mates are some of the best aspects of the campus and the programme.
Careers360: Are you willing to participate in the placement process or plan to join your previous organization?
Ayon: Yes. So far I want to explore other options through the placement process, though I am happy to join my previous organization as well.
Careers360: What are your expectations from the programme? How would you like to implicate the learning after completing the programme?
Ayon: My expectations from the programme are:
1. More exposure to different industries with their complex business problems and the structured way to approach them.
2. Understanding the social and economic ecosystem from a holistic and scientific perspective.
Careers360: What is your advice to the aspirants of Executive MBA?
Ayon: Be clear about your aspirations and interests in life.Choose the B-School and programme carefully, which will be best fit with your objective and personality and will help you the most to excel and attain the highest level of learning.

Yes you can apply for CAT and get admission in IIM Ahmedabad. IIM Ahmedabad is the top Institute for MBA and it's cutoff is very high every year.
Since you are from bsc which is a non engineering background, extra points are given by the Institute for maintaining academic diversity. This is an advantage for you.

is IIM Ahmedabad offer integrated program of management
Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that IIM Ahmedabad does not offer integrated program of management. Among all the IIMs, only IIM Indore offers integrated program in BBA + MBA. IPMAT is the entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore for getting admission into its integrated BBA+MBA program.
I hope this solved your query. Good luck for your future.
Sir Im an average student and i want to get admission in IIM Ahmedabad. But i dont have good enough marks in my 10th & 12th. I got 70% in 10th & 76% in 12th. So sir is it possible for me to get admission in IIMA even after getting good percentile for my CAT entrance test.
The admission into IIM Ahmedabad is itself a great victory and let me inform you that there is nothing like the involvement of previous exams, even the students of Engineering undergraduates go for MBA programs in various colleges. So coming to the point, I would like to suggest you that forgetting about your previous marks, which are not much bad, you must focus on the CAT examination because you can get Ahmedabad only if you are under 99 percentile student and yes it's quite difficult to achieve but if you try to work on the the portion of examination then obviously in one year or two you can crack CAT.
Also after cracking the CAT examination it's the interview part which makes sure that you will get admission in IIM Ahmedabad because the interview part is quite tough you need to be rebuilt your personality your speaking skills which are very much simpler important for any candidate who is appearing for the cat interview examination. I hope you understand what my concern is about. All the best!!!

What should I fill in "year of passing" in 12th field in CAT form 2020 if I passed 12th in 2016 and appeared for Improvement in all subjects in 2017 ? Also I have improved my percentage so which marks should I enter? Please Help. Remember I passed all my subjects in 2016.
It is a tricky situation but the answer is simple. You passed the senior secondary exam in the year of 2016 so you should mention 2016 as the year of passing. You are saying that you secured more percentage in improvement, then you can mention the improved grades in the form. But at the time of interviews, you will have to carry both the marksheets . Only The one with the more percentage , shall be considered valid. Which is the improved one in your case.
And lastly, dont worry . This does not affect the admission criteria .As long as you have cracked the entrance exam and proved your caliber for the respective exam, you are pretty much good to go.
