CMAT Selection Procedure 2020 - The AICTE approved institutions will conduct the selection procedure of CMAT 2020. AICTE approved institutes are the institutes which will be accepting CMAT score. CMAT selection procedure 2020 will begin tentatively in February 2020. CMAT is conducted for admission into various postgraduate management courses of participating institutes. Only candidates who will be shortlisted after the declaration of result will have to appear for CMAT 2020 selection procedure. There are two specific rounds under CMAT selection procedure 2020, which are group discussion and personal interview. The process of selection may vary from institute to institute. CMAT Selection Procedure 2020 - Process

CMAT 2020 selection procedure will be conducted in three phases. Three phases of CMAT selection procedure 2020 are:

  1. Score of CMAT

  2. Group Discussion

  3. Written Ability Test (WAT) or Personal Interview (PI)

  4. Score of CMAT- Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the CMAT result 2020. After shortlisting the candidates merit list is prepared which will be available online.

  5. Group Discussion - Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the group discussion round for the respective participating institute that they have applied for. The group discussion will be held in the following manner:

    1. Candidates will be given a topic for discussion based on business or current affairs

    2. Students will be grouped into 10 or more and each group will be given a specific topic.

    3. Candidates will be marked on the basis of following pointers

      1. Negotiation skills

      2. Initiation skill

      3. Encouragement skill

      4. Managerial skill

      5. Creative and logical thinking

      6. Leadership qualities

      7. Real-life scenarios

      8. Closure skills

  6. Personal Interview/ Written Ability Test

    1. Students who will qualify the above criteria of group discussion will be further shortlisted for personal interview.

    2. Personal interview round will include students and interviewer interaction face to face. Personal interview is not affected by any external factors.

    3. In personal interview, the interviewer assesses the following qualities in the student:

      1. Ability to explain past academic records

      2. Confidence

      3. Personality

      4. Creativity and innovation

      5. Prior work experience(s)

    4. Students must prepare themselves accordingly and be prepared for questions like “Self-introduction” and “strengths and weaknesses”.

    5. Candidate must be able to justify its statements under any circumstances. Through this interviewer assess the candidate’s ability to take on pressure and managerial skills.

    6. In addition to personal interview, some of the participating institutes of CMAT 2020 might conduct Written Ability Test (WAT). This round analyzed the student's writing skills. Students will be assigned a topic to present its opinion upon. To sail through this round, candidates must be thorough with newspaper daily.

CMAT Selection Procedure 2020 - Final Selection

Candidates performance will be analyzed, on the basis of which final merit list will be prepared. The final merit list will include the names of students who have cleared group discussion, personal interview or written ability test. Candidates will be notified about their final selection either through Email or call letter.

Documents required for CMAT Admission 2020

More than 1000 B-schools will accept the CMAT 2020 score. Candidates will have to apply for the participating institutes individually by visiting their official website. Students must carry the following documents at the time of admission:

  • CMAT scorecard 2020

  • Passport size photographs

  • Domicile certificate

  • Category certificate (if any)

  • Common management admission test call letter

  • Class 10 and 12 marksheet

  • Graduation marksheet

  • CMAT 2020 admit card

There are numerous advantages of giving CMAT first being that over 500+ MBA colleges accept CMAT scores. Moreover, the exam questions are easier than other MBA exams such as XAT so therfore it becomes easier for one to score in the exams as well as the fees are low. Lastly, you can get admission in AICTE approved colleges for MBA or PGDM.
