IIM Bangalore has announced CAT 2016 result on January 9, 2017 at 11.45 am. The CAT result window is active now and students can download their CAT 2016 score cards by entering their login ID and password that they had created at the time of registration.

While candidates will not get a hard copy of their CAT result 2016, IIM Bangalore is expected to send them SMS alert of the overall score and percentile. The downloaded CAT 2016 score card would include the overall and section wise scores of the candidates. Candidates would, however, not be given any hard copy of the CAT score card. Hence, they are advised to download multiple copies of their CAT result 2016 for further rounds of the CAT selection procedure at participating business schools.

Here are the steps to check CAT result 2016:

  • Visit CAT 2016 website- iimcat.ac.in

  • Enter login Id and password and click on ‘Login’

  • Click on ‘Score Card’ tab

  • Download and take print out of CAT result 2016

On the basis of their CAT results, candidates will now be shortlisted for further rounds of selection including WAT and personal interview. Around 1.95 lakh students are vying for admission at 20 IIMs and other top business schools across the country. In addition to their total scores, candidates will also be judged on their section wise score of CAT. Besides the IIMs, CAT is accepted by over 100 B-schools across India.

 

Earlier, in a notification, IIM Bangalore had declared that the results would be out after 10 AM. However, while the result window as open by 10 am, it was not activated to declare scores. Further, due to a heavy rush of candidates the site kept asking users to try logging in for their results later.

 

CAT 2016 was held in the computer based mode on December 4, 2016. The management entrance test was held in two slots- forenoon and afternoon. CAT results 2016 will be valid for one year. Out of 2,32,434 registrations, around 1.95 lakh candidates had appeared for the test.

Dear Aspirant,

You have to score a minimum of 99 percentile to get at least one good IIM call as your academics are not good. You could get a call from new IIMs if you score 99 percentile as the top tier IIMs will not give you a chance due to your poor acads.

Colleges you could look for are like IIM Nagpur, Kashipur, Shillong, etc. These colleges if you study well will provide you with a good package of 10-12 lpa.

i have got 90 percentile in cat but my academic scores are quite low 80 percent in 10th,55 percent in 12 from bihar board and 65 percent in graduation from bihar board, would i get good clg

Dear Aspirant,

You will not be able to get any good business school like top IIMs, MDI, IIFT, or FMS. However, you can still get a good MBA tier 3/4 college if you increase your percentile to 98 percentile.

However, according to your grads, you must not be disappointed if you don't get a call at 99 because your marks are not good.

what is the syllabus of CAT exam ..is it stream wise ...? which stream students is eligible for CAT ?

Hello,


Eligibility for CAT is graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with 50% aggregate, for SC/ST/PwD it's 45%.


So, people from any background can apply for CAT, provided they have required aggregate at their graduation level against their category.



Now, coming to the syllabus for CAT, there's no specific syllabus for CAT, one needs to rely on past years sample papers to get a fair idea about the pattern and weightage given to each topic and section.In general, questions are mostly from middle school level English and Mathematics.



There are mainly three sections in CAT-



Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation which includes topics such as Tables, Graphs, Data Caselets, Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Syllogism etc.



Quantitative Aptitude which includes topics such as Geometry, Algebra, Time and Work, Mensuration, Number System etc.



Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension which includes topics such as Sentence completion, Questions based on reading comprehension, Para-jumbles & para-summar, inferences etc.

See if you have failed in past then its bot necessary that you will fail again or you might get a very good percentile this time.The only thing that is your hand and by which you can perform well in CAT is my preparing with determination and consistency.
All you need to do is just give you best in the studies and then you will surely perform well in CAT.

how to prepare for cat in 1 month

Hey there

Honestly there is a difference between just finishing the syllabus and preparing for selection in cat. See you can finish the syllabus if you'll work really hard in one month but trust me only unless you are extraordinary you won't be able to get selected for iims or other good colleges. But don't loose hope you should fight till last.
