Avinav Bardalai, Guwahati
I found the overall exam easy. For me Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning was tough as compared to Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. Since this is my first attempt, I am not aiming at any top B-schools this year”.
Harsh Patel, Surat
For me the exam was easy. Verbal Ability section was a bit lengthy and tough. If I got more time for that section, I could have scored more. This is my second attempt and I am expecting 70 percentile this time.
I had taken CAT last year as well but this year I am found it tougher. The Quant area was tough but the DI area was time consuming and calculation intensive. Logical Reasoning was the toughest section according to me. The English section was easier compared to the Logical Reasoning part. So I decided to attempt the Verbal Ability section first. The RC passages were quite simple and the questions were direct too.
The exam went well for me. I am expecting about 85 percentile. I found the LR questions to be tricky. I have expected a tough Quant section but surprisingly it was among the easiest sections. I am expecting a good sectional score in QA & DI.
I had planned to attempt the Reading Comprehension questions at the end as it is time consuming. So I attempted as many English Usage questions like Para Jumble, Fill in the Blanks etc. and 1 of the 4 RC passages. In the Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation section, the Data Interpretation questions were time taking and I had to spend a lot of time in calculating.
Rohit Kumar, Ghaziabad
Overall the exam was easy. Section-wise, I found Data Interpretation a bit tough as compared to others. Verbal Ability was easy for me. I expect around 85 percentile.
Ankur, Navi Mumbai
The overall paper was very easy and I am quite happy with my performance. The exam was smooth and the new CAT Pattern was also more convenient for me. There were no technical glitches and there was no random placing of the sections. The paper was meticulous.
I found the paper to be too tough. Maybe because I am from Commerce background and this is my first attempt. The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation questions were too tough. The Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning questions were not too easy either. I guess my situation would have been better had I been an engineering student.
I am a BBM student so the Quant section didn’t pose any problem to me. But I should have worked a bit better on Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning section. The official mock test practice helped me with the navigation part. It was a smooth process and I did not find any technical glitch.
I am a working candidate who is aspiring to improve my career chart with an MBA. I feel that my friends who are engineers stood a better chance with the Quantitative Analysis Part as they have experience in Mathematics. My exam was moderate but lengthy with around 34 to 35 questions on QA. The RC section was too long. So I attempted questions from only 1 passage.
Naitik, Navi Mumbai
I could have done better with a little bit more time. LR questions were very tough. Again the paragraphs under the Reading Comprehension Section were too lengthy and I lost time on that. The QA questions required some time to solve. Some questions were basic but many involved working /calculations that took a good chunk of time
I was not happy with my performance. The QA section was long and a bit tough since they required solving on paper. The VA section was okay but it was too lengthy. The time constraint was too much. I wish I had a bit more time!
Saurabh, Greater Noida
This is my second attempt to CAT. I found this year’s CAT was better in terms of pattern, planning and execution. The difficulty levels of the questions were more on the higher side. Moreover the paper was lengthy compared to last year. So time was a definite constraint inspite of the increase of 30 minutes in the CAT 2014 exam duration. I did not touch the Data Interpretation Questions and found the RC section lengthy. The overall paper was moderate for me.
Deepika Parashar, New Delhi
The Verbal Ability section was too lengthy. The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning questions were tough too. Quant was interesting as it was neither too easy nor too difficult. QA & DI was easier than VA & LR section. So in all my performance was moderate and I am expecting around 90 percentile.

Firstly i would like to appreciate you for your efforts for scoring so much high in one of the most difficult exams of the country .
I can understand that this year despite of scoring such a high score you get such a rank but this shows that how much the competetion is rising and also the cutoff is going to rise so much high .
Yes you can apply like this because both of the counsellings are conducted separately but you will get more benefit via the state quota.
Chances for Delhi are unfortunately very less but in UP due to inc in seats due to AIIMS and JIPMER you are going to a very nice institution.
You can also use our collage predictor to understand your standing in the competetion:-
