CAT 2014 Application Form- The application form of CAT 2014 is now available online from August 6, 2014. The last date to fill the CAT 2014 Application Form was Tuesday, September 30, 2014. However, the application process was suspended for 15 hours from September 28 to 29, 2014. And the CAT 2014 Application Form procedure will be reopened for a day on Friday, October 10, 2014. In order to register for CAT 2014, you have to visit the official website, which was launched on Friday, August 1, 2014.

New : Candidates who wish to appear for CAT 2016 which will be conducted on November 29, 2016 (tentatively) can fill CAT 2016 Application form from first week of August.

 

The official notification has been announced on Sunday, July 27, 2014. The CAT 2014 Application Form would be available online only. Till last year, the CAT voucher was available offline as well. However, the registration process was completely online.

 

Aspirants who wish to appear for CAT 2014 should fill the CAT 2014 Application Form online within the stipulated schedule.

The CAT 2014 Application Fee is same as last year, Rs. 1600 for General and NC-OBC candidates and Rs. 800 for SC/ST/PWD (DA) candidates. The application fee can be paid through Credit Card/Debit Card and Net Banking.

Coming back to the CAT 2014 Application Form Procedure, let us have a detailed step by step look of the procedure. Before buying the voucher, ensure that you fulfill the CAT 2014 eligibility criteria.

 

Filling the CAT 2014 Application Form

  • The first step is to register to create your profile for CAT 2014 for which you would require a valid email id and functioning mobile number. All notifications related to CAT 2014 will be mailed to the same email id and mobile number through SMS by IIMs and TCS. Hence, make sure to provide an email id and number which you access regularly. It is also suggested that you keep it clutter free so that you don’t miss out important emails or SMS on CAT 2014.
  • Click on the link, ‘Register for CAT 2014’.
  • Once you complete the registration process by entering your basic details namely name, date of birth, email address and mobile number. 

As per estimate, the duration of CAT 2014 Application Form Procedure is going to be around 20 to 30 minutes or longer depending on the internet connectivity and server speed.

 

Now let us have a look at each of the steps of CAT 2014 Application Form Procedure.

Creating Profile

 

After you complete the CAT 2014 Registration procedure, you will be sent the User ID and Password of your profile by email and SMS. After you receive them, logout and close the window and visit the homepage and click on the 'Existing User' tab.

 

Filling CAT 2014 Application Form

 

There are 4 categories in the application form which include:

  • Personal Details
  • Academics
  • Work Experience
  • Programmes
  • Payment

Scheduling CAT 2014

  • You have to select 3 test centers based on your first, second and third preference from the list of 354 test centers across 99 cities in India. The number has increased compared to 45 cities which was there last year.
  • Your test center and schedule will be allotted by the exam conducting authority as per your preference and availability of slot.

After the completion of CAT 2014 Application Form Procedure, you will receive a confirmation email stating the successful submission of your CAT 2014 Application after the completion of the process. The email will also contain information on Admit Card download window.

 

You will also see the Application Summary window with 2 windows, Application Summary and Download Application Form.

 

Unlike last year, you will not receive the admit card Immediately after the completion of your CAT 2014 Application Form Procedure in your mail box. You have to download the CAT 2014 Admit Card from the official CAT 2014 website from Thursday, October 19, 2014 till the exam date.

Last year, CAT Application Form Procedure underwent a positive change where the candidates could buy the CAT Voucher online by logging in to the official CAT website. However, the process of buying the Voucher offline from the Axis Bank branches existed last year as well, which has been completely abolished for the CAT 2014 Registration proces. In 2013, CAT aspirants had the option to buy the vouchers both online as well as offline. However, despite having positive expectations to get higher number of registrations, CAT 2013 saw lesser registrations compared to that of CAT 2012.

 

Last year, CAT received 1.94 lakh registrations out of which 1.74 lakh candidates appeared for the test. As confirmed by IIM Indore, the exam conducting body, the computer based CAT 2014 will be conducted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and will be announced in due time. The CAT 2014 scores will be accepted by the 13 IIMs having 3,335 seats and 150 other B-schools across India.

i would like to know how many times i can give cat exam?

Hello aspirant,
You can appear for cat entrance exam as many times you want. The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in cat exam is as follows:-
In order to be eligible for the CAT Exam, the candidate has to pass at least their Bachelor's degree with at least 50% (for General Category and for candidates from the NC-OBC caste). For SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates, the percentage required is 45%.

I am a CAT aspirant & have appeared for CAT, XAT,& SNAP & scored 90%ile. With acads 10th-7.4CGPA, 12th-82% & in graduation(2018)-64% with no work experience due to family problem. Would I able to secure a seat in good college? I have been shortlisted for TAPMI, FORE, IIMV for round one till now.

its true that iims and some of other top ranked institute shortlisted candidates as per their academic record and  cat or any other management aptitude  test score. see right now which of institute name you have mentioned is also comes under tier 1 college. now you need to focus on your presentation skills, communication approach  to get shortlisted in final rounds. so keep calm and focus on your goal, I think you will surely crack it.

You can target a few average collges like IBS Hyderabad, mdi murshidabad, amity noida, NBS Ahmedabad, ITM navi mumbai (good colleges)


Others are: vit vellore, isbr pune, ndim delhi, pibm pune, aims banglore, mit pune, ims ghaziabad, etc

The entrance exams through which candidates can get admission in MBA course are CAT (Common Admission Test), MAT (Management Aptitude test), XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test), CMAT (Common Management Admission Test), SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)) and ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions).

Specifically,  For your question,

CAT Syllabus will be prescribed by the exam conducting authority. CAT (Common Admission Test) will be managed by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), Kozhikode.

hello aspirant..

for admission through the jee mains you need to qualify the examination. Which is know with the declaration of the cutoff for the examination. As per the expected cutoff for  this year it is about 89.75 for the general  category. Work hard and do well in the next session of the jee mains for getting admission in excellent colleges.
