Career Development Conference at Faculty of Management Studies, Manav Rachna International University
Faculty of Management Studies, Manav Rachna International University organized a conference on career development “The colours of Career Development”. The conference was in partnership with India Career Development Association (ICDA) R/S foundation, Maryland, US and NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (NCDA), USA.
The conference was held for 3 days (27th to 29th March). The program commenced with Holi Milan and cultural program on 27th March 2013. The practical ways to approach the career development and counselling were discussed. Various Keynote Addresses, Scientific Sessions, Poster Sessions/Round Tables, Panel Discussions and Workshops were held.
This was the platform to bring the budding students under one roof to talk debate and learn the role of careers in today’s prevailing scenario. The conference consisted of various exciting and dynamic presentations, including keynotes from Dr. Rich Feller (President of NCDA and professor at Colorado State University, USA); Dr. Debra Osborn (immediate past president of NCDA and professor at Florida State University, USA); and Dr. Spencer Niles (a former president of NCDA and professor at the Pennsylvania State University, USA) and invited talks from Dr. David M Reile(CDA) and Barbara H. Suddarth (CDA).
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Chavi Bhargava Sharma, Director, FMS said, “There are lot of issues or problems that a student face while choosing a career. This platform will provide them the path to develop personalities in career planning along with the influence of family and society.”
The various topics included in the conference theme were Career Planning and Lifelong Learning; Relationship Between Personality and Career Choices; Women and Careers; Influence on Career Choices (i.e., family, parents, peers, society, government, policy, etc.); Differences Between a Career and a Job; Careers for Special Groups/Populations; Issues of Mid-life Crisis and Career Planning; The Impact of the Global Marketplace on Careers Planning; Post-retirement Careers; Cultural Diversity and Career Development; Off-beat, New, and/or Creative Careers; Creative and Innovative Use of Career Information; The Role of Career Counselling Professionals; Career Counselling and the Armed Forces; Careers and Technology.
The speaker gave an insight of creative and innovative use of career related information and covered all the challenges that students generally face were covered with the help of open interactive session. The seminar focused on the global impact of career today.

It is very good college specially for cse/it.
The placements in Manav Rachna university are very good. The college is tied up with different MNC's and many good companies. There are 48 out of 60 students in our super senior batch got placed in many companies. MR is known for its placements in Delhi NCR. They provide internships and summer training, every year in good companies.
The students under 85% to 90% are kept in the placements. There is no bargain or anything like that. The highest salary offered is Rs. 10 lakhs. The average salary offered is Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 6 lakhs.
