Careers 360: Were there any initial problems and hiccups that you faced during the initial months when everything at the institute was new? How was the support from the college and seniors? How has your journey been so far at the institute?

Gayatri: There were no problems as such. Since it was a new environment it took some time to adjust to the surroundings and make friends. I knew a senior from PGDM so he helped out a lot in finding my way through. The outbound activity which the college conducted was a good ice breaker.

Careers 360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc. for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Gayatri: There are various clubs in college. To name a few you have the finance club, alumni club, branding committee, marketing club, etc. I am a part of the college’s branding committee and placement committee.

Careers 360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Gayatri: The lectures start from 9 and end at 3 with the 15 mins gap between each lecture. After that, you have some activities of the clubs that you are in. Some of us stay back for assignments and projects. Other than that at 3 you are basically free to do anything. Some of us head home while my group and hangs out in the canteen or in the classrooms.

Careers 360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

Gayatri: The teacher-student relationship here is quite a friendly one. In the classrooms, they are our teachers but outside they seem more like friends. They know a lot about us, we discuss things and have fun with them, to an extent where they start pulling our legs. They help us and give us advice on anything we need.

Careers 360: What facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?

Gayatri: There are three colleges in the campus so naturally, we have three canteens and CCD. Other than that we have a huge auditorium, a state of the library, two conference/activity rooms and three computer labs of the capacity for 60 students each.

Careers 360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

Gayatri: The college is very clean and hygienic.

Careers 360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

Gayatri: Yes. There is always a first aid box at the lobby as well as a sanitary napkin machine in each ladies washrooms.

Careers 360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?

Gayatri: At first, it feels difficult to balance things but as 2-3months go by your schedule doesn’t seem hectic and you find the perfect balance between studies and activities.

Careers 360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?

Gayatri: All the clubs in college give us fun and academia at the same time. It is fun working with everyone and at the same time, you learn about leadership and teamwork. You also get to interact with the corporate world.

Careers 360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?

Gayatri: Not that I know of.

Careers 360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

Gayatri: The most popular hangout in college is the college canteen and the parking space outside CCD. The most visited places nearby are Cubic and K-Star Mall if you want to see a movie and Diamond Garden if you want to eat something.

Careers 360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?

Gayatri: Mostly sitting with friends in the canteen or in a classroom.

Careers 360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life on campus?

Gayatri: The college has a Facebook page as well as Twitter and Instagram account where everyone can see what is happening in college.

Careers 360: What type of companies coming for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

Gayatri: A lot of well-known companies come to college for campus recruitment.
